Valley21 is a unique project in Romania developed for people who are sharing the same values. The houses follow the natural line of the land in order to maintain the perception of the landscape consistent as if outside, but without giving up the comfort of a unique house.

Valley21 Eco-Touristic Resort is a project made up of 68 individual houses and a facility centre built on 68 hectares, situated on the administrative territory of  Vama Buzaului Township from Brasov County and will be finished latest 2020.

The Italian architects, Luca Fornaroli and Giulia Valentini, in collaboration with the landscape architecture company Stijlgroep Architects from Rotterdam, created a work of art in the middle of nature.

Both the architecture of the project and the solutions we have chosen for access to utilities cater for the energetic sustainability principle and lowest impact on the environment.

TERRA house is one of the two categories of villas chosen as a reference point for Valley21. We haven’t just looked for a nice facade to fit in a natural and yet undeveloped environment. Every time we have put in the middle of the concept both the villa and its environment to be sure we obtain an integrated result.

We wish to create a total and constant perception about the environment by design, as if outside, with sun, rain or snow, but without sacrificing the comfort and calmness provided by the interior.

In order to turn this feeling into an architectural project, the house is partially built in the ground, thus obtaining a natural protection for extreme temperatures, as a sustainable thermal strategy.

The green terrace on the roof of the building adds up to this strategy and provides full integration of the villa within the natural environment of the valley.

The energy obtained via photo-voltaic and solar panels for hot running water and for the heating system, state-of-art thermo fireplace, floor heating systems, triple glass window system Reynaers and modern materials used for interior finishing make the ecologic element and the sustainability principle at the basis of VALLEY21 project complete, reason for which we are proud to have been awarded the “Green Homes” certification obtained via the Romania Green Building Council.

SOLIS house is the other type of villas chosen as a reference point for Valley21.

The green terrace on the underground floor of the building provides full integration of the villa into the natural environment of the valley.

The design of this villa is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional houses built in the past. The upper volume looks like a telescope that redeems the beauty of the environment, the tradition co-existing with a pronounced feeling of the modern life emphasized from the inside by large glass openings.

The villa is a holiday home with clearly separated day and night areas, with three bedrooms in the underground floor, two private bathrooms and one common bathroom, and storage areas.

The living, dining and kitchen areas are with the ground floor in a glazed open space, so that the interior-exterior space becomes fluid. Also at the ground floor, in the kitchen area, we suggest a small technical space. The suggested plastic architectural image is a prismatic volume covered by a framing inclined in three directions.
