28 Nov Construction of the Valley21 1st house has started
We are very happy to announce that first construction in Valley21 has started on Monday the 1st of November 2014! The work started with the construction of a road towards the location where the first house will be built. This first stretch of road is 520 meters, has a base of 6 meters and ultimately will have a finish layer of finer gravel with a width of 3,5 meter, this final layer will be placed after construction of all houses as the road will be damaged by heavy trucks. This road will serve all the houses that will be built in this part of the valley.
The first phase of this road construction is projected to be completed by 10 december. The construction of the house will happen in parallel, On 12 November the road, although not finished, was ready to receive first trucks of materials and concrete so that construction of the foundation could commence.
Gérard Doedée together with Luca Fornaroli and Gerrit van de Wouw (an ‘’old hand’’ in concrete construction traveled to Romania to – amongst other activities – observe this foundation work from quality governance perspective.
The actual pouring of the concrete incurred a few days of delay but after some discussion with the road company director Doru Iagar efforts are stepped up, so to try to finish the foundation before the winter stop; actually some snow started to fall this week, but if the weather Gods are willing the foundation could still be ready before Christmas.
This house is actually already for sale for those who are interested to be the first owner of one of these unique houses and with even the opportunity to have some of the house aspects tailored to personal wishes…
